The company was founded in 1914 by James Ghilotti and is now one of the largest family-owned construction companies in Northern California. After over 100 years in business, GCChas been ranked among the top 400 contractors in the nation. GCC became employee-owned in 2022 when they implemented an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). Employee ownership reinforces James Ghilotti's core philosophy that still hold true at GCC to this day, “Do good work, be responsible, take care of the community and people who work for you".
