Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT) is a 100% employee-owned company in the civil engineering industry headquartered in Sparks, Maryland. Since its founding in 1971, JMT has been dedicated to envisioning possibilities and making a tangible impact through its workforce and projects. JMT provides  a diverse range of planning, design, and consulting services for infrastructure projects across the United States and its territories. Their clientele includes federal, state, and local government entities, plus numerous private institutions, commercial enterprises, and industrial clients. JMT specializes in offering comprehensive solutions for various markets. Today, JMT has offices in seventeen states.  In 1999, JMT became employee-owned when they implemented an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). The transition to employee ownership was a step to securing a prosperous future for the company while building lasting employee empowerment. JMT's ESOP continues to be a cornerstone of its employee-centric approach, fostering an ownership culture felt across all its offices. Embedded within the company's decision-making processes, policies, career advancements, and employee incentives, the ESOP program serves as a means to provide personal, professional, and financial fulfillment to its employees. In 2024, JMT will celebrate its 25th anniversary of being employee owned.
