Oftedal Construction is a 100% employee-owned company in the construction industry headquartered in Miles City, Montana. Oftedal Construction was founded in 1964 by father and son team, E.H. and Bill Oftedal as a small earth moving business in eastern Montana. They provide their earth moving services to both public and private entities. Over their nearly 60 years in business, Oftedal has opened a second office in Colorado and expanded their service area to eight states.
In 2001, Oftedal Construction became employee-owned when the company founders sold the company to their employees and established an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). This allowed them to maintain its existing management team and leverage the strong reputation that employees established. As an employee-owned company, employee interests are aligned with the company’s success. Each employee owner understands their financial stake in the ongoing prosperity of the company, encouraging them to do their best work.
