The company was founded in 1977 with the goal of providing high high-performance conveyor components at competitive pricing and unparalleled customer service. This continuous goal still leads the company today after four decades of experience in a diverse group of industries including aggregate, mining, forestry, gran, unit handling and food processing. PPI currently operates 25 global manufacturing facilities. 

In 2001, Precision Pulley & Idler became 100% employee-owned when they established an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).
