Springfield ReManufacturing Corp. is a 100% employee-owned remanufacturing company headquartered in Springfield, Missouri. Springfield ReManufacturing Corp is a subsidiary of SRC Holdings, the first of the parent company. The company was originally the remanufacturing division of International Harvester. In 1983, several employees, including CEO Jack Stack, made the decision to purchase the company before it was divested. Springfield ReManufacturing Corp has uniquely been employee-owned since the beginning of the company in 1983 when they implemented an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). This ownership structure was implemented as an effort to turn around a struggling company. That strategy paid off, Springfield ReManufacturing Corp. stock that started in 1983 at $0.10 per share has increased in value of over 360,000% today. Springfield ReManufacturing Corp actively practices open book management as taught in The Great Game of Business.
