SRC of Lexington, Inc., a subsidiary of SRC Holdings, was founded in the 1960s in Lexington, Kentucky. SRC Holdings acquired SRC of Lexington, which saved 65 jobs and allowed the company to continue. Today, SRC of Lexington has grown to 180 employee owners. The company specializes in remanufacturing engines and engine components; axles and axle components; transmissions and torque converters; and hydraulic pumps and motors for the construction, mining, power generation, and gas compression industries.
When SRC of Lexington was acquired by their parent company, SRC Holdings, everyone became an owner through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). As owners, employees have a stake in the business.
